Tauros IN DE MAASHORST

Shiny black and brown, extremely strong and resistant to weather and wind. This is what the extinct aurochs must have looked like. For a few years now, a number of original cattle breeds have been bred into an animal that resembles the aurochs both genetically and in appearance. An impressive, self-reliant, calm animal that has lived in the primeval area of De Maashorst since the spring of 2016.

In the primeval area of De Maashorst lives a herd of beautiful tauros. Just like the wisent, the tauros is a grazer and it chews the tender grass of the meadow. Its arched horns proudly in the wind. In the winter, Tauros live on their fat and eat twigs and bark. The grazing area is freely accessible, so the chance that you will encounter a Tauros is great.
