Participation

purpose of participation

The energy of the great involvement of residents, entrepreneurs and interest groups is highly appreciated. That is why we involve interested parties and stakeholders in a constructive and efficient way in the development of De Maashorst. In this way we can:

  • Share knowledge and experiences;
  • Map interests and needs;
  • Create support and involvement.

principles for participation

  • Residents, entrepreneurs and interest groups are given the opportunity, individually or in an organised manner, directly or indirectly, to be involved in the development of De Maashorst nature reserve.
  • It is about thinking along, discussing and participating, so that the partners can then make well-considered choices.

How do we do that?

Below is an explanation of how participation works.

Meeting nature reserve de maashorst

Twice a year, the partners organize a broad information and participation evening. All residents, entrepreneurs and interest groups are welcome. During these meetings, the various developments in the De Maashorst nature reserve are central. What activities are we working on? What projects are on the agenda? And visitors can share their ideas, tips and wishes and think along about specific projects.

Targeted participation

During the year, the partners develop plans and projects. For each plan or project, the responsible partner or partners determine whether and in what form participation is required, who should be invited for this and when this takes place. Relevant stakeholders are invited (area-specifically). Under the headings Vision and Policy and Projects you can read what we are currently working on.

Reporting centre

If you come across a broken fence, overhanging branches or something similar in the area, you can always report it. These are matters that form an obstacle to the use of the area and cannot wait for the biannual run-up. The partners have a joint reporting point for this, namely [email protected].

For a detailed description of the participation, we refer you to the participation plan.

User Council & Advisory Board

Until July 2023, participation in the area was arranged via the so-called User Council and Advisory Council. Both advisory councils provided solicited and unsolicited advice on plans and projects in De Maashorst. In order to involve more people in the development of the nature reserve, we will now work with two broad information and participation evenings per year and targeted participation per plan and project. The advisory councils will still complete the current advisory process for the new Area Vision.
